We
will tackle almost any bespoke development project, although
historically we have specialised in stock control and distribution
systems. The languages we have chosen to use are Delphi
together with either Interbase or Firebird database for
Windows-based systems and Sculptor 4GL for systems involving
heavy transaction processing under Unix and Windows. We
have also used Lotus Notes for text orientated applications
and Visual Basic.
Over the years we have completed a variety
of projects including:-
-
A stock control and order processing
system for steel processors which are converting coils
to blanks for fabricating companies. Originally written
as a bespoke, this software has become a standard product
and is now known as CoilStock. Its development is ongoing,
with modules for works orders and production control
due to commence shortly. CoilStock is written using
Delphi and is deployed as a client/server application
using InterBase/Firebird and Windows servers. It currently
links to Sage Line 50 and Line 100 financial accounts.
-
A stock control and distribution
system for a third party warehousing company. A number
of systems for the production of warehouse and delivery
documentation, stock turnover and delivery performance
analysis, and charge-out calculations have been developed.
It includes electronic capture of data from clients
and EDI, as well as dial-in, ISDN and virtual private
network access for order entry, enquiries and reports.
This software has also become a standard product and
is now known as Warehouse 2.
-
An internet enquiry and order entry
system for use by our client’s customers and representatives
which resides on a web server in our customer’s
offices. It passes real-time information directly back
to the main stock control system and includes an automated
email facility so that office-based staff are made aware
of online activity.
-
A labelling system to import customers'
own data and output onto consignment labels in a format
required by White Arrow Express Ltd.
-
A data entry system to allow information
to be allocated automatically to the correct nominal
codes across three companies within a Sage Line 100
system. The weekly summaries of sales, expenses and
receipts from over 30 branches are entered onto a screenbased
form which then automates the posting to each company
and nominal code with analysis of each branch as a cost
centre.
-
Sophisticated reporting from live
Sage Line 50 data using Microsoft Excel and ActiveX
controls.
- A computerised share register for a small public limited
company. Originally written in 1990, this software currently
contains information on 4,300 shareholders holding over
600,000 shares. It includes an export of data to be
able to produce certificates and accounting information.
Guardbase is also a Sage Line 50 and Line 100 Developer
and has produced a number of smaller bespoke programs and
reports for users of this accounting software.
